Parent Involvement and Title I Information

Title 1 Part A is a part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. This act provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high percentages of poor children to help
ensure that all children meet challenging State
academic content and student academic
achievement standards

West Bainbridge Elementary is a Title 1 school along with all the other schools in our district. This means WBE receives Title 1 money, which is the largest single federal funding source ever passed by Congress for education. These funds help students
in many ways. Services can include hiring teachers to reduce class size, tutoring, parent engagement activities, professional development for teachers, purchasing materials and supplies, and hiring
teacher assistants.
